Whoo-hoo! I’ve finally made it to the full-term mark of my pregnancy!! Baby can come at any point now and technically be “on time.” What that means in terms of symptoms, is that things are definitely getting a bit tougher with the extra weight and pressure on my lower stomach! I’m a major waddler and just need extra help getting up from sitting or sleeping (either from a table or my sleepy hubby). In terms of these pregnancy updates, I’ll have to play it by ear, but I’m not sure how many more I’ll be tracking from here on — this one pretty much sums it all up!

How far along: 37 weeks. 4 days.

Total weight gain: I actually lost 1 lb since last week…but total weight gain has been near 50 lbs! Guess I needed to put on the weight for baby!

Sleep: Wow. Sleeping comfortably is simply a distant memory. I wake up with extreme pressure on my bladder, a rock hard stomach and my back pain is simply excruciating…upper, middle and lower :(.

Best moment this week: Celebrating my 2nd anniversary married to my love!

Movement: Less movement these days, but I guess that makes sense with cramped conditions in the womb. Although if I cease to feel movement, I will definitely be in touch with Dr.!

Symptoms: Pressure on my stomach, back pain and mini contractions…especially at night!

Food cravings: I just feel super dehydrated! Need to keep filling up my water bottle!!

Food aversions: Not too much these days…mostly just the smell of raw or bland meats.

Labor Signs: Those Braxton Hicks contractions and pressure on bladder.

Belly Button in or out? Neither. Flat belly button :p.

What I miss: Working out, eating fresh-made deli sandwiches and being able to move around at my leisure.

What I am looking forward to: Finally meeting this little man :).

Weekly Wisdom: “All I know is that you come into the hospital with a baby in your stomach and come out with a baby in your arms.” – inspiring words from sister’s mid-wife on the miracle of birth.

Major Milestones: Baby is full-term!

How far along: 36 weeks. 5 days.

Total weight gain: Too much!

Sleep: (No change from the last week.) The biggest issue continues to be sleeping comfortably. My back hurts. It’s hard to turn from right side to left side. And frequent trips to the toilet continue to interrupt my sleep.

Best moment this week: Finishing the nursery! (Finally satisfied with the layout!)

Movement: Yes! Although there is less movement due to the cramped conditions. When he does it is much more apparent.

Symptoms: (No change from last week.) Biggest symptom is the upper back pain, shortness of breath and waddling.

Food cravings: Bread and butter. And lots of water.

Food aversions: The smell of bland flavorless chicken – hasn’t changed.

Labor Signs: YES! Feeling those BH contractions again, especially at night!

Belly Button in or out? Neither. Flat belly button :p.

What I miss: Being able to walk…normal!

What I am looking forward to: Getting a much-needed pedicure and massage (hopefully!)

Weekly Wisdom: “A mother’s joy begins when new life is stirring inside… when a tiny heartbeat is heard for the very first time, and a playful kick reminds her that she is never alone.”

Major Milestones: According to BabyCenter.com, baby now weighs about 6 lbs like a crenshaw melon and more than 18 and 1/2 inches long!

Getting through all the housework I expected to do has become nearly impossible as well, as my body cannot take too much bending or maneuvering. I need to take a break every 20 minutes or so, lest I feel faint. According to the doctor, this is all normal as I progress through the last 3-6 weeks of my pregnancy. And even though I feel like I’ve been gaining too much weight, they say it’s normal and baby is measuring fine at 34 weeks today.

How far along: 34 weeks. 5 days.

Total weight gain: A lot. About 45 lbs!

Sleep: It’s nice to sleep in these days, since I’m waking up several times throughout the night for a bathroom break.

Best moment this week: Spending quality time with family at baby shower #2!

Movement: Yes! Particularly in the evenings.

Symptoms: Upper back pain. Lower back pain. Dry/itchy skin. Out of breath. Heavy tummy. Pressure on my bladder.

Food cravings: Ice pops and lots of water!

Food aversions: The one food aversion I’ve had since the beginning: smell of poultry.

Labor Signs: Lot’s of movement…not sure if it’s Braxton Hicks contractions or just baby moving.

Belly Button in or out? In-be-tween. Still.

What I miss: Being able to work out, believe it or not! Just too heavy to do anything these days.

What I am looking forward to: Eating hot dogs this summer!

Weekly Wisdom: Do not be afraid. Embrace life and all of it’s chapters with open arms.

Major Milestones: If you’ve been nervous about preterm labor, you’ll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems, generally do fine.

What a week it has been! Not only am I 5-8 weeks closer to delivering my little bundle of joy, but so much has happened in a matter of days.

To start with the positive, Charlie and I have been hard at work to complete our nursery: he diligently assembling the crib and changing table/dresser combo, and then we, making it a priority to complete the remainder of the wall paper border project. We finished everything all in a matter of hours this past Saturday and were able to have some relaxation time on Sunday, for the first time! Now all that is left to do, is cleaning out the closet (previously used as storage) and actually decorating the room. We also are anxiously awaiting an underwater-themed mural my husband’s buddy is working on, which we’ll showcase on the closet doors. Lot’s of good things planned!

On the downside, it was a bittersweet week in the office when I found out that the company declared bankruptcy. Obviously bad due to everyone being out of a job suddenly, but good because I technically can have more time to unwind and de-stress before baby arrives. While the details are yet to be known, there isn’t much work to do at the office these days; we are all pretty much just waiting to hear how long we have and if and when we will get any type of severance. I’m just hoping it’s a blessing in disguise….

How far along: 32 weeks. 5 days.

Total weight gain: About 43 lbs!

Sleep: Very hard to get comfortable. Not only is my upper back pain worse than ever, but I simply struggle to get a good night’s sleep :(.

Best moment this week: Getting a surprise baby shower at the office — hey, a $75 gift card is appreciated so that I can complete my baby shopping list!

Movement: All the time!

Symptoms: Extremely dry and itchy skin!

Food cravings: Just about anything sweet!

Food aversions: Poultry..still!

Labor Signs: Some cramping in the lower abs.

Belly Button in or out? In-be-tween.

What I miss: Dancing!

What I am looking forward to: My first pregnancy photo shoot this Saturday :)!

Weekly Wisdom: Everything happens for a reason; a good reason!

Major Milestones: I’m gaining about a pound a week, and roughly half of that goes right to baby; who will gain almost half of his birth weight during the next 7 weeks as he fattens up!

I’m really starting to feel the symptoms of the “third trimester”. I’m much slower overall. Can’t get out of the car too fast, can’t bend down too often. My lower back and tailbone are in excruciating pain. And sleeping through the night has become a distant memory. I’m either waking up from aches and pains or reluctantly making my way to the bathroom to relieve my bladder!

Also, I’ve been feeling emotionally drained lately. Don’t want to take work stresses home, but some days it happens. Don’t want to argue over little things at home, but some days we do. Don’t want to neglect my blogging goals or “things I want to accomplish before my 30th birthday” (I still have 3 months to go!), but yes, some days it just happens. Hopefully things will start looking up soon…they have to!

How far along: 29 weeks. 6 days.

Total weight gain: I’ve lost count.

Sleep: Tossing and Turning. Waking up periodically for a bathroom reprieve.

Best moment this week: My husband surprising me with a gift certificate for a massage…specializing in maternity massage!

Food aversions: Smell of poultry cooking. (Gag!)

Labor Signs: Some cramping in the lower abs.

Belly Button in or out? In between, but guess that means in.

What I miss: Getting massages the old fashion way: while lying on my stomach.
