Want an easy toilet paper craft to do with your toddler? Try a colorful love bug craft — perfect for Valentine’s day or Spring as the weather warms and you explore nature.
Today I’m sharing a fun, yet simple love bug caterpillar craft for kids. This is a great spring craft to do with toddlers who love learning about bugs and other little creatures around the yard and house.
How to Make a Love Bug – Materials
Start by bending the toilet paper roll to create a fun heart-shape “log” for your love bug to sit on.
Have your child paint the toilet paper roll red using washable paint.
As that dries, let him or her choose a few pom pom colors you can use to create your caterpillar-like critter. Hot glue the pom poms onto the dry toilet paper roll. Add googly eyes and pipe cleaner antennas!
You can insert a popsicle stick to the bottom of the paper roll like we did for easy handling. That’s it!
An easy love bug craft for your little ones to enjoy as Valentine’s Day approaches for pretend and imaginative play!
