SNICKERS® & Football Brownie Cupcakes

Are you ready to enjoy the big game?? Football playoffs are in full-swing, and at our house this usually means games on the big screen around the clock, especially on Sundays. The Mr. can’t get enough…whether it’s the play-offs, a birthday weekend or Father’s Day, he’s always up for enjoying the games with some delicious treats.

To help dad enjoy the games even more, we always include our favorite snacks like SNICKERS®, Skittles® and Starburst® which help make watching that much more exciting. Plus, these candies are fun to layout on the dessert table with football brownies or cupcakes!

So on a recent trip to Walmart, I decided to pick up the essential items.

PicMonkey CollageEveryone must have been preparing for the weekend, because I managed to grab the LAST large pack of SNICKERS minis near the bottom of the shelf, along with some SNICKERS fun sizes and my favorite Original Skittles and Starburst candies to create our big game treats! Phew!!

Football Brownie Cupcakes Recipe

The first step was to bake some cupcakes I could decorate like footballs. These are great for any tailgating party (or really for ANY sport’s lover get together)!football brownie cupcakes

I decided to go with brownies instead of cake mix because of the firm texture that I thought would work better for footballs. I followed the directions on the box to simply add 2 eggs, 2/3 cup of oil, 1/4 cup of water and brownie mix and bake for a little over 20 minutes.

Once cool, I decorated with icing to create the football laces.

I made an assortment of cupcakes, some football-shaped and others topped with icing and a mini SNICKERS for the added kick ;).

For a more festive colorful look, the football cupcakes were placed in a cup with layers of Skittles candy!

Then I decided to get a little creative with the SNICKERS treats and create a candy container decorated like a football. I used a cylinder cardboard container and wrapped it in brown construction paper. I attached the white “laces” to complete the look.

We had so much fun “homegaiting” and can’t wait to do it again next weekend! Try these at your next sports gathering — they even make a nice dessert treat for Father’s Day!!

What are some of your favorite treats to enjoy as you watch big football games? Tell me in the comments!
