Wondering what to get dad this year? Check out our top gift ideas for Father’s day during quarantine or when dad is just stuck at home!
Every year, I’m stumped as to what gifts the kids and I can get their dad for Father’s Day. I mean once we run through our typical list of dad gifts like a new wallet, sports paraphernalia, sleeping in, or even homemade gift ideas, I’m usually left thinking…is there anything else he’d like?
Well this year as we find ourselves in the midst of a global pandemic and need to practice good social distancing from others, I knew I had to get a little more creative and find gift ideas for dad to enjoy right at home.
So if you need some creative ways to celebrate dad this year, take your pick from the ideas below!
Creative Quarantine Gift Ideas for Dad
Father’s Day Goodie Basket
First things first, what would an awesome Father’s Day be without an awesome bag of goodies?! That’s why at the top of this year’s Father’s day gift idea is a basket of dad’s favorite! This is such an easy way to personalize dad’s gift and add a special touch. Just think about what dad likes — his favorite candies, his favorite snacks, his favorite movies, or his favorite things to do. Then you can just add that to the goodie basket.
If you’re not sure what to include, here are some fun ideas to get you started:
- Superhero T-Shirt for Dad
- Father’s Day Quarantine Mug
- Tools for Dad
- DIY Massage Shirt for Dad
- Assorted Snacks for Dad
- Hot Sauce Gifts
- Beef Jerky Sticks
Beef Jerky Gift Box for Dad
And speaking of snacks, if dad is like most men, then you know he’ll enjoy snacking on beef jerky all the time, whatever the occasion at home. That’s why I love this Beef Jerky Gift Box from the Manly Man Co. It features an assortment of beef jerky meats from Barbeque Mesquite and Maple Bacon to Pepperoni and even Whiskey flavored!
Here’s one of their best sellers — The Best Jerky Gift Box (our pick for dad this Father’s Day!)
But that’s not all, known as the “flower-equivalent for men” the beef jerky gift box makes quite the unique gift idea for any holiday, from Father’s Day to Christmas and Valentine’s. Just check out a few of their clever offerings:
- Beef Jerky Flower Bouquets
- Beef Jerky Rose Bouquets
- Maple Candied Bacon Roses
- Manly Scented Gift Wrapping Paper
- Tactical Christmas Stocking Gift Kits
- Manly Gift Boxes
- Meathearts™
Since dad (and the boys) enjoy a good beef jerky snack, I know for sure they’ll enjoy chewing these whether during a hiking break or family movie night.

Toilet Time Gifts for Dad
Now, we all know dads like to ahem, take their time when on the toilet. So I love throwing in a few gag gifts every now and then to make dad laugh while poking fun at some realities. If you want to give dad another unique gift for Father’s day (especially when frequenting the toilet more often while at home these days), you should consider adding a few gifts he can enjoy on the potty.
Like this toilet timer, as a friendly reminder to HURRY UP ;)!
Or any of these air fresheners he must spray when he finishes this duty.
And of course, this phone sanitizer (or even these pre-moistened screen wipes) is a MUST when he’s been browsing around for way too long in there.
I know moms everywhere can agree that this one is a MUST for their Father’s Day gifts to consider!!
Shaving Club
Now that dad may be home a little more because of social distancing and quarantine concerns, you may notice him growing more and more facial hair. So you definitely want to include extra razors and shaving tools on your shopping list…especially if he tends to steal your razor some days.
I’ve heard about shaving clubs for years now and never really looked much into them until recently. They really do make a big difference when you can’t get out to pick up a razor or your last-minute online purchase won’t be making it for weeks! Eek!
That’s why I recommend you get dad a subscription to Dollar Shave Club to prepare for moments like these and just have a go-to for keeping your essentials in stock. You can choose your favorite products to be delivered periodically at a predetermined time — giving you flexibility and a way to stay on top of that growing beard. A brilliant idea!!
Beer Tasting at Home
Another way to make Father’s day extra special at home is to let dad sample a variety of drafts with a sampler set that includes a platter, chalk, and glasses.
And of course, don’t forget to pick up some of his favorite brews! This is just an easy way to give dad that feeling of “going out” while he’s relaxing at home.
Gifts to Help Dad Workout
But because a little more time indoors on the couch can bring on a few extra pounds for all of us, dad may be eyeing something a bit “healthier” for his body. So when dad has the sudden urge to work-out a little more, help him get started with thoughtful gift ideas.
If he’s a runner, let him get his running shoes and easy-grip water bottle + phone container — and do not forget this awesome chilly bag to help him cool off fast!
And if he’s just feeling a bit stressed and needs an outlet, try this punching bag or glove set to help him unwind.
Games for Dad
If you just want to help dad let loose and share some laughs with the whole family during your new weekly game nights, be sure to stock up on the best board games for dads. Below are some of our favorite ideas that dad will enjoy:
Dad Joke Face-Off – for ages 12+
Don’t Wake Daddy – if you have younger children (3+)
Family Charades – for the whole family to enjoy
Gifts for the Outdoorsmen
Does dad like to go fishing, hiking, or camping? Well these days, he’ll definitely be doing more and more of that with spending time outdoors as a family.
Pick up some essential outdoor gear for your next outing.
Start with a lightweight waterproof hiking backpack.
Then pack a portable chair with cooler.
And of course, where ever you go, take a little survival kit…just in case because with kids and the outdoors you just need to be prepared for everything!
Headphones for Dad
And last but not least, with families spending more and more time together (for better or for worse) you may just want to pick up a new set of headphones for dad — when the kids are being a handful or he just needs a moment of peace. He’ll thank you for them.
You can try these popular noise-canceling headphones, a pair of cool wireless echo buds, or just these super affordable multi-pack earbuds to add to a gift basket.
